This Strange World. Steve's Journal.

Upon excavation within an old mine shaft, the miners of the Astul village have found a chest, chalk full of books. The Astul archeologists have spent a long time studying them, and only recently given us, APNC (Astul Public News Center) the honor of publishing the amazing story written within these journals. Within these journals, is a story by the man named Steve. You all know him, he's in our history books. Let's read more in depth about our founder, shall we? (May Notch take care of him in aether now.)

"Day 1 - New Surroundings.

I awoke in a large forest. The last thing i remember before this was going to sleep in my bed. It is easily below zero here, with all of this snow, and the only clothes i am wearing are my casuals. A teal shirt and blue jeans. I also seem to have a fairly large satchel with me, containing a single book and quill. I decided to write down my daily activities, to keep me sane. I'm beginning to shake violently now, it's hard to keep the letters organized. I'm going to look for shelter.

- Steve.

Day 2 - Giant Arachnids.

Upon looking for food and resources, i found myself in a less colder forest, it no longer snows. Good for my body temperature, but still no food, lack of malnutrition is getting to me. I managed to drag myself to a small opening within the forest, seems good to camp here for now. The day was filled with hard work, as i have started to gather wood from the trees, like any survivor would. I came upon a frightening sight, today as well. An overly large spider had jumped down from the tree tops, charging at me with it's venom dripping from it's mouth. In Fight or Flight reaction, i grabbed one of the logs and slammed it down atop the arachnids back. Four to five hits later, it had died, it's body mysteriously dissipated into smoke, leaving no corpse behind. It dropped some of it's web, strong like string, i decided to stick it into my satchel and continue my gathering. This world is strange, no doubt about that, but now Giant Arachnids? What can it throw at me now...and am i alone?

- Steve

Day 3 - Shelter, and food.

I have managed to construct planks out of the wooden logs i collected. Throughout the nights so far, i have back myself up into a small dirt structure, you could say. The, what i've dubbed "Mobs", become more fierce at night. I built myself a makeshift shack out of the planks, a Workbench, some might call it, and crafted myself a door. With a roof over my head, and walls to protect me, i feel slightly safer. But i need to defend myself, and chiseled out a cheap, slightly flimsy wooden sword. Reminds me of when i was young, playing around in my backyard...So far i've only come across more Spiders. They seem to not attack me, unless i hit them. They're a passive Mob, i've decided. Although agressive during the nights, which is why i spend most of my nights indoors. During the day i look for food, and gather more wooden logs, i've realised apples grow on certain trees, and leaves those intact. Although healthy for me, they don't really do the trick. I need a real meal.

- Steve

Day 5 - Little green fellow.

Without a way to clean myself properly, i now have my stubble coming back to haunt me. My mother never really liked the way i looked with it, more or so because i can't really grow a proper beard. It's...more of a patch, than anything. I can't exactly see it, but i can feel it. And it itches. The days so far have been un-eventful, with more wood collecting, i have also made myself a wooden axe, to help the process move along. Without proper tools, i feel like staying near the home for now is the best choice, and my diet is currently Apples only. I wont last long on this, and need to find more vitamin friendly substances. Like...meat. Whilst re-planting the trees, for more growth obviously, as the trees oddly spawn within a day or two, i seem to have seen a little green creature in the distance. More of a blob, i couldn't really make out it's exact details, only that it stood very tall, with no visable appendeges. I tried squinting to get a better look, but it walked away. Maybe i'll encounter it later?

- Steve

Day 7 - More work gets done.

With a set of wooden tools, i have decided it's time to really survive here, as a search and rescue party is highly unlikely in this world. I have made the following:

● Wooden Sword. Not very durable, more blunt than anything, but gets the job done.
● Wooden shovel. I'll need it for searching for ores. I assume there would be some in this earth.
● Wooden Pickaxe. For the ores, obviously. I've seen stone around in the mountains, and there will be most likely some underneath this dirt.
● Extra wooden sword. Don't need to explain, do i?

I have started excivating behind my home, in my "backyard" you could say. A decent amount away from it, but still close enough. I began to shovel out a hole, close to a mountain, and hit stone fairly quick. I then used a pickaxe to mine out the stone, and put the ore into my satchel. It becomes more and more heavy, the more i store in it. I'll need an alternitave motive for storage soon.

I came across what appeares to be coal. Good, it's becoming dark in here, and from what i've learned from my Dad, i can use this to make torches. A trip to the house and back, i now have light. Through more minning i found a large cave system, you can even hear bats and water throughout the cave. I searched and traveled, setting up the torches in such a way, so i can find my way back to the entrance. I dig out more coal, and stone as i go, my satchel becoming uncomfortable to carry as i do so.

I've been in here for at least 30 minutes, since i've started. Each minute feels like an hour, but i know it hasn't been too long. My satchel has become to much to bare, so i'm going back.

I'm currently hiding behind my house. When i walked out of the cave, i saw another green creature, appear around the corner of the front of my home. In slight fear, i hid. I'm writing this, as i build up the courage to confront it. With it being so close, i got a better look at it's details...I wish i hadn't. It's tall, up to my shoulders at least, with a large head. I assume i saw the back of it. I was right earlier, for it had no arms but four...Feet. I heard slight hissing coming from it, and i can hear it getting louder. I should probably stop writing, and actually find out what this creature is all abo"

This is all that was recovered of "Book 1". There are no pages torn out, it just simply ends this way. There are more books, and more days and weeks to go through. Stay with us, the APNC, as we uncover more about Steve.

This...started out by my dumb brother, playing Minecraft one night day. He had this weird idea to write down whatever he did in that Minecraft day, via book and quill. So after about an hour, he called me over and said "Hey, you like to write, right? Help me out on this." and so...this began. I have to admit, although he annoyed me half the time, getting out of the Notepad to open up Music Player, this was fun to do. He thought up of most of it, while i wrote it down and made it sound all nice and pretty for him. We're going to be uploading one Journal/Week every once in awhile, so if you liked it, stick around!
